The Sabre tank was developed in the latter days of the Great Crusade, a high-speed vehicle designed so that the Legiones Astartes could more easily deploy heavy weapons to the frontlines at great haste. This speed also allowed it to outflank larger armoured vehicles, bringing its main weapon and sabre missiles to bear against weaker flank and rear armour to great effect. This box builds eight Legion Sabre Strike Tanks, with a choice of either anvilus autocannons or neutron blasters, plus a hull-mounted heavy bolter or multi-melta. It also contains a Legiones Astartes Vehicle transfer sheet with 1130 transfers.
Few tanks received as many variants as the Leman Russ, the workhorse of the Solar Auxilia. The Leman Russ Exterminator with its paired autocannon was designed to obliterate infantry formations in mere moments, while the Leman Russ Annihilator was fitted with a twinned lascannon that made for a reliable anti-tank solution. This box builds eight of either variant, with a choice of hull-mounted heavy bolter or lascannon, and comes with a Solar Auxilia vehicle transfer sheet with 288 decals.
Besieging fortifications was long the preserve of bombers and long-range siege weaponry, but the invention of the Termite Assault Drill allowed the Legiones Astartes to deploy their shock troopers into the heart of opposing fortresses from beneath the ground, their subterranean trajectory protecting them from interception. These transports continued to be used during the Horus Heresy, as Loyalist and Traitor alike used them to assault otherwise impregnable fortifications.
